SHORT COURSE PROGRAM

Join this multi-facet working horse farm and learn valuable stable management skills and sound compassionate horse training techniques developed and practiced for over 35 years.  This intensive short course program caters to the mature student as well as enthusiastic youth with a passion to provide for horses in a responsible and humane manner.  A must for barn managers, backyard stables and devoted horses owners. 

The Trillium Equine Complex and its parent, The Trillium Morgan Horse Farm, have been a respected industry leader in educational programs for the public.  It is also a global breeder of champion Morgan horses and is renowned for its Foundation Training.   Co-owner, Catherine Sampson, is an accomplished writer whose health care and training articles appear in many major equine magazines, such as Equus, Horse Sport and others.

A fully structured mentoring program, students receive competent guidance and training with practical hands-on experience.  A significant part of this program will be devoted to properly managing a stable, health care of the horse, assisting the veterinarian, breeding, mare care foaling practices, as well as training.  A certificate of achievement will be issued on the successful completion of this program.

Head Master Trainer, Catherine Sampson will personally instruct each student in her preferred Foundation Training© methodology.

FACILITY AND AMENITIES:

Our modern classroom is fully equipped with technology enhancement tools allowing for concise and exciting presentations.  Real life anatomy models are used in our teaching program.  Selected sessions are held in the newly dedicated Emergency Vetting Station.  Participants can observe from ground level or take advantage of viewing from the theatre observation level.

A furnished gazebo is available for lunches and breaks.  Students may also relax in The Horse & Hound Lounge.  Small kitchenette and clean restroom on site.   Free Shuttle Service to and from accommodations is offered.  Ride in the comfort of our fully appointed luxurious seven passenger Oldsmobile van.   The farm is a smoke free environment.  Horses are supplied for all hands-on study.  Shuttle Van
